After over thirty years of utilizing a building in downtown Luckey, the Pemberville Public Library System purchased the Troy-Webster American Legion property for the new home of the Luckey Branch Library. This new location will double the library's square footage and allow the library to offer more services. The new building was renovated to provide improved ADA accessible doors and restrooms, as well as have a large Community Room that can be rented out by the community to hold meetings and social events after business hours, which was not possible in the previous building downtown.
In order to address the changing needs of the communities they serve, the library includes a MakerSpace area which provides access to technology and equipment that people may wish to use for hobbies or academic projects. Some of the technology the MakerSpace is designed for includes a 3D printer, a laser engraver and cutter, a Cricut, sewing machines, and a heat press. A new Recording Room will allow students and adults to record and edit audiovisual material for presentations, projects, podcasts, job interviews, and much more. Since Luckey Branch Library is directly between the library's other two locations in Pemberville and Stony Ridge, having the MakerSpace and Recording Room in Luckey will make it easy and convenient for library users from all areas of the library’s service district to access these exciting new services.
